Hi, everybody!
My name is Sarah and I will be interning with ASCLV this summer. I’m extremely excited to get into some of the important topics I have in mind for this blog, but I wanted to jump on here and add an introduction post before I dive into the content.
I’m currently finishing up my undergraduate degree in English (with a minor in Professional Writing), and I will be attending graduate school this fall for my MA in English. I enjoy writing about social justice issues mainly, which pertains to both my academic and creative work. As for reading, I love poetry collections, novels, and articles. Some fun facts about me: I have 7 cats (and 2 guinea pigs, a snake, and a dog), my favorite color is pink, my zodiac sign is Scorpio, and I’m currently working on publishing my own poetry collection!
My vision for “Coffee with Sarah” is sort of eclectic. My main goal is to share important information that is relevant to sustainability and environmental issues but in a way that is personable. I don’t want to just report news. I want you all to feel like you’re having a genuine conversation with me over a cup of coffee. Very relaxed, yet insightful. Similar to that, I would love to share some of my creativity. I write some poetry with environmental themes that I think would be fun to post on here. Would anyone be interested in that?
I would love to share my opinions on the information I report and hear from others as well. Since I am still learning, and will continue to learn, about everything surrounding sustainability, any and all feedback would be amazing. I’m also still navigating the online site, so please bear with me in that sense.
Thanks for reading my intro! If anybody has any suggestions, I would love to hear them. I’m eager to get my blog started and connect with everyone!
Cheers!
Hi Sarah!
That sounds like a great idea. Sustainability doesn’t have to be an unreachable/confusing topic. Discussing it in a friendly, personable way is an excellent method to broach difficult situations about the environment.
