What is wrong with this picture?

The first thing I notice is the huge open space. Then the large number of people.
In this pic there’s a maximum of 10 people in cars, yet they get almost all the space, while the uncountable number of pedestrians are pushed out, up against the walls, just so they can live their lives without fear of getting killed by their fellow men, who are rich and ruthless enough to poison the air and the landscape with their cars.
At many times of day, this would be true in cities here — except we don’t have tracks for trams/light rail anymore.
