Sienna Gallus
Do you too feel
like the ocean welling up
and spilling out?
Do you feel like the coast,
torn away
more each wave
Retreating back,
recoiling. until there is nothing left
but sea
And when our people lay,
flaming
with the trees, with the world
Will it then, be enough?
do you see storm clouds in the distance
and close the blinds?
while the streets flood outside
With another river,
another ocean,
another reassurance that it’s fine
