This summer, the Alliance will publish a special Youth Voices issue of Sustainable Lehigh Valley focused on work from local high-school students — and we’d like to include your voice!
Your creative abilities can help move us toward a more sustainable world! — whether your primary interest is the climate, environment, healthy food, social justice, public health, more-resilient communities, true democracy, or any other aspect of sustainability. (See Alliance Goals)
Alliance accepts a variety of work related to sustainability, including essays, poetry, short stories, photography, drawings, and other artwork, including hybrid forms. Several schools throughout the Lehigh Valley have had their student’s work published in previous issues of Sustainable Lehigh Valley.
You might reflect on the following questions:
What will thriving, equitable, sustainable communities look like and feel like?
What will it take to achieve this? What are the barriers?
What will happen if we fail to address climate change?
You can submit a piece you have already created — or something entirely new. This is a great opportunity to build your résumé for colleges and future employers! (Please review our online guidelines.)
Check out some of the previous work of Lehigh Valley students from our most recent issue, Spring 2024:
