Envision us woven into the intricately balanced Web of Life and feeling compelled to organize intensely and to act appropriately on what allows people and Nature to reach their highest attainable vitality. We envision a future of Honorable Self-determined Freedoms of the Many, in a Self Healing world. We join together to foster a sustainable, regenerative Wisdom Society.
We reject the vision of a violent, greedy Global Corporate Empire that provides fleeting opulence for the few on the backs of starving or barely subsisting Billions around the withering Earth. We are aware that the societal changes required to reach sustainability and regenera- tion will be deep and challenging, but also lifesaving, deeply satis- fying and fulfilling.
To reach the visionary goals is a long-term wholistic process that has been underway for many years by self-education, role models, and demonstration projects. These model projects test and demonstrate the feasibility and positive multiplier effects of widespread eco paradigm approaches. But in order to be able to reach these goals also sometimes necessitates a crisis intervention process, to keep the pathways open to reach all the goals later.
For instance, to keep the rising levels of CO2 in the atmosphere, with its several feedback loops, from thrusting the planet into an irreversible runaway greenhouse, several of these goals and policies desperately need top priority attention and appropriate action. In the case of CO2, replace fossil fuels with solar and wind power and hydrogen fuel cells. While these are problems of global reach, actions taken locally, in organic farming or building codes for instance, can help point to positive solutions.
We pledge to give as much attention to process as we do to goals as we strive to wholistically influence the development of our commu- nities by initiating and supporting education and community outreach programs. We support those who work in diverse and interdependent areas and seek to collaborate with them on issues of mutual concern.
With unconditional love for Nature and Humanity, with enduring commitment to intuit, research, and implement much better solutions, we still may have a chance to foster the sensitivity and ingenuity re- quired for successful stewardship of the living Earth. Then we will be proud to turn the implemented Wisdom Society over to future generations.
