NCC’s 5th Annual Peace & Justice Conference

The conference, “Fifty Years of Giving Peace a Voice,” commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of our nation’s first pro-peace teach-in, held at the University of Michigan on March 24-25, 1965.

The schedule of conference events includes:

  • 9:30 – 10:30am: Workshops on “Peacebuilding Strategies to Promote Diversity: Lessons from Ferguson,” at Lipkin Theatre.
  • 11am – 12:15pm: Peter Yarrow’s presentation on his activism and music, from the 1960s to the present, Lipkin Theatre.
  • 1:30 – 3pm: Workshops on “Peacebuilding Strategies to Promote Diversity: Lessons from Ferguson,” College Center, room 220.

The event is free and open to the public.

Peter Yarrow, of Peter, Paul and Mary, will be this year’s Cohen lecturer. The Cohen Lecture Series in the Humanities was established at Northampton Community College in 1986 through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Cohen.
