Breakfast Forum at UUCLV: ‘Towards a New Scientific Humanism’

January 27 @ 8:45 am - 9:00 am

The Breakfast Forum is held at 9:00 am every Sunday in the community room of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lehigh Valley, Center and Wall Streets in the Bethlehem Historic District. Bagels and coffee are provided at 8:45 am. Discussion is encouraged. Free and open to all.

January 27 – Towards a New Scientific Humanism – presenter, Frank Stone

Eric Kandel, in his latest book, “The Disordered Mind”, describes how a biological view of the brain and mind can point the way towards a new scientific humanism. In this talk we will examine that thesis.

[Note: If you have questions, suggestions, or are interested in leading a discussion, please contact Cari Poole or any of our Breakfast Forum volunteers: Frank Stone, Fred Bomberger, John Kennedy, and Dan Poresky.]

From a Transition Perspective:

This series provides a means for “rethinking”: getting at the changes in thinking/paradigms that are needed for transitioning to resilient communities.
