“TU Presenters – Reskilling” in the column at left.
Transition Towns founder Rob Hopkins calls the educational work we need to be doing over the next couple of decades “the Great Reskilling” in which we acquire and re-acquire skills we will need to increase our own resilience and the resilience of our communities during the transitional times we are in.
Here we’ll deal with trainings, educational programs, peer group meet-ups, approaches to personal health and nutrition, and so on. Things that provide opportunities for gaining the personal and organizational skills we will need on the local level (e.g., see Jason Bradford’s post on The Oil Drum: Campfire) to cope with a drastically altered world.
What sorts of practical skills might adults and children need?
But it’s not all serious. As Emma Goldman is quoted as saying, “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be part of your revolution.” See “Special Spring 2017 Workshop Series at Valley Contra Dance”.
