Tuesdays with Toomey

Date/Time Tuesday, March 21, 2017
from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Details

We join together EVERY Tues to ask Senator Toomey to listen and address the needs of all PA constituents.

Senator Toomey promised not to be a “rubber stamp” for the Trump administration’s agenda, and he won reelection with this message. Now, it is time for all of us to make our voices heard so that he can accurately represent the interests of ordinary Pennsylvanians. We believe in government “of the people, by the people, for the people,” and each Tuesday we spend our lunch breaks making sure our elected officials hold true to this promise of American democracy.

Thus far, we have called on Senator Toomey with the following specific requests and concerns:

  • Co-sponsor the Emoluments Resolution and call on Trump to divest himself of all potential conflicts of interest.
  • Support the bipartisan effort to investigate and address Russian interference with our elections.
  • Speak out against the current rise in hate crimes and the appointment of alt-right supporter Steve Bannon.
  • Protect our access to healthcare
  • Schedule a town hall meeting in Philadelphia so that citizens’ MANY concerns can be heard and addressed.
