Breakfast Forum at UUCLV: Slavery & The Burden of Race

The Breakfast Forum is held at 9:00 AM every Sunday in the community room of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lehigh Valley, Center and Wall Streets in the Bethlehem Historic District. Bagels and coffee are provided at 8:45. Discussion is encouraged. Free and open to all.

Feb 19 – “Slavery & The Burden of Race” – Presenter, Phil Reiss

How slavery based on racial identity became established in the Americas with an emphasis on its origins in England’s colony of Virginia. Phil is the author of “Blue Eyes On African-American History: A Learning Adventure.”

This series provides a means for “rethinking”: getting at the changes in thinking/paradigms that are needed for transitioning to resilient communities.
