Nonviolence
Nonviolence is not just the absence of violence or even passive resistance to violence or impression—it is a philosophy, a goal, and a way of living. The central idea, of course, is the importance of abstaining from violence. Mohandas K. Ghandi and Martin Luther King, Jr. are two of the most prominent advocates of nonviolence.
